Outline

  • Rehabilitation and maintenance of oral functions
Prosthodontics restores missing teeth, parts of teeth, and oral function with dental prosthesis. When patients lose teeth due to cavities or gum disease, prosthodontic treatments bring back function, making it easier to enjoy meals. We treat patients with dental prosthesis such as crowns, fixed partial dentures, removable partial or complete dentures, and dental implants.
  • Supporting the oral health of older adults
By supporting chewing, swallowing, and speaking abilities, we work to improve patients' quality of life (QoL). We diagnose and treat early signs of decline in oral function (oral frailty) and more advanced issues (oral hypofunction) through prosthodontic treatment and specialized rehabilitation.

Head's Message

Enjoying meals is one of life’s pleasures, and teeth are essential for this.
Even if some teeth are lost, dentures and implants can allow patients to continue chewing comfortably.
In our department, our goal is to help patients “enjoy eating (masticatory performance)”, “swallow easily (swallowing)”, and “speak clearly (speaking)”. We offer treatments, mainly using dentures, based on our research.
We are also focusing on prosthodontic treatment for congenital missing teeth associated with cleft lip and cleft palate, as well as post-surgical reconstructive treatment (maxillofacial prosthetics) for conditions such as oral cancer.
