The Center for Global Oral Health of the Osaka University Dental Hospital holds an annual International Advisory Board to receive insights from foreigners who are not native Japanese speakers. The board aims to promote the internationalization of the hospital and enhance its services.
This year, the 7th meeting was held on Thursday, March 6, welcoming international students from Brazil, Taiwan, and Indonesia, who are currently studying at the Graduate School of Dentistry, as advisors.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Shumei Murakami, Director of the Center for Global Oral Health, provided an overview of the hospital. Following this, to gain insights and suggestions for improvement from the advisors, they observed the hospital, starting with the general reception area. They then visited the Division of Special Care Dentistry and the Pediatric Dentistry, where doctors explained their unique approaches to the patients. They also visited the Center for Translational Dental Research, where the researcher introduced the advisors to cutting-edge research and treatments.
After the hospital observation tour, a discussion session was held with the CGOH committee’s members. The advisors shared their observations and suggestions based on their tour. The discussion included active exchanges of opinions, particularly regarding the expansion of AI translation device implementation and improvements to in-hospital signage.
Osaka University Dental Hospital will continue incorporating diverse perspectives through the International Advisory Board Meeting to further enhance our services.
