{"id":1194,"date":"2024-12-17T16:34:28","date_gmt":"2024-12-17T07:34:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hospital.dent.osaka-u.ac.jp\/?post_type=divisions&#038;p=1194"},"modified":"2026-02-17T14:10:40","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T05:10:40","slug":"dental-anesthesiology","status":"publish","type":"departments","link":"https:\/\/hospital.dent.osaka-u.ac.jp\/en\/departments\/dental-anesthesiology\/","title":{"rendered":"Dental Anesthesiology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>General Anesthesia<\/strong><br>We manage general anesthesia for oral surgery and day general anesthesia for dental treatment of handicapped people.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inhalation sedation and intravenous sedation<\/strong><br>We provide sedation to relieve anxiety and nervousness and to make patients feel at ease during dental treatment and oral surgery.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pain Clinic<\/strong><br>For chronic pain and paralysis in the oral-facial area, we provide nerve blocks, infrared light irradiation, various drug therapies, and eastern medicine treatments such as acupuncture and herbal medicine.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>First-aid treatment<\/strong><br>Dental anesthesiologists are on call to provide first-aid treatment for emergencies occurred in our hospital.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-vk-blocks-spacer vk_spacer vk_spacer-type-margin-top\"><div class=\"vk_block-margin-lg--margin-top\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Head's message<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dental anesthesiology is a field that applies its knowledge and skills to patient management during dental treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, patients who are afraid of dental treatment can be comfortably treated with sedation, and patients with serious heart disease, for whom dental treatment is considered dangerous, can be safely treated while their heart function is monitored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an aging society, people with certain diseases will have more opportunities to receive dental treatment in the future. You can also make an appointment through the Regional Medical Coordination Office.<br><br><strong>For patients who wish to see a Pain Clinic<\/strong><br>An appointment is required. Please call in advance to make an appointment and bring a letter of referral from your dentist when you come to the clinic.
